At Philly Community Wellness, we provide clothed bodywork and energy healing services in a comfortable group setting on an affordable sliding pay scale.  But what does that mean?

Trigger Point Therapy

Bodywork is a term that can be applied to any form of complementary medicine that involves touching or manipulating the body’s tissue, and includes Shiatsu, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping, Thai Yoga Therapy, Tuina and more.

Energy healing can describe any therapy that theoretically works with one or more of the body’s energy systems (Chakras, Meridians, Auras, etc).  Modalities include Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) and Rising Star.

Group setting is the best way to describe our

PBC At hawthorne

Communal Treatment Space

treatment space.  We treat our clients in an open room, free of dividers or curtains.  All private information can be discussed with your practitioner before entering the treatment space.  Since all of the work we do is clothed, you can enjoy the company of others instead of a plain white wall.  The shared space greatly reduces expenses, allowing your practitioner to keep more of the money you pay than they would at a “spa”.  (By the way, all of our practitioners are independent entrepreneurs-not employees or contractors-who each pay a share of the expenses and keep 100% of their client’s payments.)

Sliding Pay Scale refers to the fees we charge for services, which vary according to what the client can afford.  We do not have a suggested income guideline, but a wide range of acceptable payment amounts (i.e, an hour of Reiki is$30-85).  We encourage our clients to decide what within that range they find affordable, and acceptable.  Since the process of income verification can be an experience that is all but healing, we see no reason to do it.

Reiki

Also, most bodywork and energy healing works better the more often you receive it…so if paying a little less per visit helps make regular treatments affordable, you can take that into account when deciding what to pay.  Some of our practitioners (currently, Bethany) even offer discounts for clients who get more than one session with them per month.

In short, we believe that Bodywork and Energy healing are effective tools for achieving optimal health, and that they should be affordable to as many people as possible…and we’re happy to put our money where our mouth is!  Book a session today and see why we’re the “best kept secret in South Philadelphia”!
